Description

Cetrorelix (INN) is a synthetic decapeptide and a potent Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) antagonist. Unlike GnRH agonists, which cause an initial "flare" effect (stimulation of gonadotropins), Cetrorelix acts immediately to block GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, suppressing the release of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) without an initial surge.
