Description

Oxytocin is a cyclic nonapeptide hormone and neuropeptide produced naturally in the hypothalamus and secreted by the posterior pituitary gland. As an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API), it is synthetically manufactured via solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). It is widely used in obstetrics to induce or augment labor and to control postpartum bleeding, as well as in veterinary medicine. Due to its cyclic structure containing a disulfide bridge, it requires precise manufacturing and strict storage conditions to maintain stability and biological activity.
